Accessibility statement
The MCCAA is committed to making ImportaMT usable by everyone, including people using assistive technology. This statement records where we stand and how to tell us when we fall short.
Standard we work to
WCAG 2.1 level AA. Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, focus is always visible as a 2px outline, and colour is never the only carrier of meaning. A status always has a word beside it.
Motion
Motion in the service is functional. The one expressive animation, on the homepage, is suppressed entirely under the operating-system reduce-motion setting, as is every transition.
Contrast and text
Text meets the 4.5:1 contrast requirement against its surface. Where a brand colour would fail, the accessible variant wins. Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or function, and no content requires horizontal scrolling at 320px.
Documents
Decision receipts are generated as tagged PDFs with embedded fonts covering the full Maltese character set. Documents you upload are your own and we cannot guarantee their accessibility.
Languages
The service is provided in full in English and Maltese, including decisions and receipts.
Known limitations
Documents supplied by third parties, and any scanned image of a document, may not be accessible. Where that prevents you from completing something, contact the MCCAA and we will assist directly.
Tell us
If you meet a barrier, contact the MCCAA and tell us what you were trying to do and what happened. We treat accessibility defects as defects, not enhancement requests.
